This carving is amazing. Where did you get the picture? And I really love your citation of Plato's cave message. That's truly a find for me. I've always described the same phenomenon with a different metaphor. Mine involves ants, trying to imagine a world where no one can see anyone else, and from the other viewpoint, attempting to explain to an ant what it is like to see.
Katy, The carving is from an email a friend sent me recently. It's really quite artistic. I shall include more in upcoming entries. Philosophy intrigues me, and my greatest lament is that I was never privy to any Philosophy courses at any point in time. I came across the reading on Plato's cave, and did some cross referencing, and stumbled upon that message you referred to. It was quite apt because it perfectly outlined my own interpretation on it, so I included it. You did peak my interest though, and I would like to know more about your own metaphor on the Cave. Thank you for your comment, and all the best to you =)
