Thoughts on Life
(Taken from "The Blue Day Journal" by Bradley Trevor Greive)
~ Nibble the one you love as often as you can. Hey, one day you won’t have teeth so make the best of them now.
~ If you try to carry all the worries of the world on your shoulders, sooner or later you’ll get a bad back.
~ You should only try to live up to your own expectations.
~ There is no shame in tears. Weeping cleanses the heart of sadness and refreshes the soul.
~ We all experience loneliness every now and then, but remember that in a global population of around six billion, feeling lonely is a state of mind.
~ Think about what you say before you say it.
~ You are only as old as you feel (and remember they’re not wrinkles, they’re smile lines).
~ Don’t lose the ability to laugh at yourself – it’s a vital skill.
~ Karaoke is utterly pointless, painfully humiliating, and loads of fun. Make sure you try it – it’s good for the soul.
~ You shape other people’s opinions of you by the way you live your life.
~ Don’t let irritating little problems and irritating little people get under your skin and drive you crazy – they aren’t worth it.
~ It’s never too late to say “I’m sorry”.
~ Big emotional crashes are like car wrecks. Don’t expect to walk away unscathed, and don’t expect to heal overnight. You’ll be okay, but it will take time to recover.
~ Dream of what your life could be, and then live it.
~ Be passionate and optimistic at all times. This weary world is waiting to swallow up people who forget who they are, what they want, and where they’re going.
~ The world is full of crusty, cynical people who say life is a big letdown again and again. In fact, they have just let themselves down again and again. Be true to yourself and your dreams and ignore anyone who tries to discourage you.
~ Avoid any involvement with people you can’t admire or respect.
~ Make sure the people you love and value the most know how important they are to you.
~ Sooner or later we will all be caught in an embarrassing moment. But as long as you can laugh the loudest, no one can hold anything over you.
~ Live your life with passion.
~ A relationship that is not built on a foundation of friendship, respect, and equality is doomed.
~ Let go of emotional baggage.
~ Live every day as if it were your last, because one day it will be.
