Did you know that:

Bra
The first Breast Supporter was patented by Marie Tucek in 1893, the original design had shoulder straps and a hook and eye fastening to support the breasts. Gradually women were moving towards less restrictive lingerie, away from corsets towards supportive underwear which would allow them to lead a more active life. In 1913 Mary Phelps Jacob, a New York socialite designed her own backless brassiere using two silk handkerchiefs and ribbons. Her friends were very impressed and she applied for a patent, but soon lost interest and sold her patent to Warner Brother's Corset Company. In 1928 Ida Rosenthal came up with cup sizing and within a few year this system had been adopted by Warners, and they were offering cup in sizes A to D.
